COVID Update:

For the remainder of the 2020 season, we plan to have shooters on every other position while competing. COVID masks do not have to be worn while firing but are required while away from the shooter’s firing position.

Welcome to Precision Pistol

Fairfax Rod & Gun Club hosts Precision Pistol (AKA Bullseye) matches at the Walter Walsh, Jr. Range, a 25-position 50-yard outdoor range with a covered firing line and turning targets at 25 yards.  The range is named in honor of long-time FRGC member Walter Walsh in recognition of his distinguished career as an FBI agent, USMC officer, and US Olympic Team pistol competitor and coach.

Matches are conducted in accordance with the National Rifle Association’s Precision Pistol Rules and the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s Competition Rules for Service Rifle and Pistol, as applicable.  Current editions of these rulebooks can be viewed and downloaded using the links below.

Competitors in our NRA matches may elect to shoot in any division (open or metallic) or .22-only by so notifying the match director prior to the commencement of the match.  All match fees are waived for juniors accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Competitors are welcome to purchase lunch at the snack bar in the FRGC clubhouse.  Lunches during 2700 matches can be pre-ordered prior to the start of the match using the menu form.  The form can be obtained HERE or using forms provided at the range.

Our matches typically fill up, and competitors are encouraged to register early.  For more information about our bullseye pistol program or to register for a match, please contact our Match Director, Brent Obenour, at [email protected].
