Sunday Afternoon Winter Skeet (SAWS) League 2022!

,

It is that time of year again – to begin planning for next year. Are you thinking about the Sunday Afternoon Winter Skeet (SAWS) League? The SAWS League will start on the first Sunday in 2022 – January 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Please sign up by sending an e-mail or calling the number at the end of this article. The SAWS League Rules are posted along with the sign-up roster. This league is intended for shooters of ALL levels of experience. Beginners and the accomplished are all welcome. Everyone can anticipate having a good time on these blustery winter afternoons. Just remember that a cold day shooting is always better than a warm day at work. New shooters and those who have never tried a skeet league are especially welcome. The SAWS League also provides an ideal opportunity to introduce your spouse, children, friends and neighbors to the shotgun sports. Ladies are very welcome and all lady shooters will receive a free hot chocolate on the first day of league shooting. Teams are selected to provide the best mixes of experienced and new shooters. If you want to shoot with a specific person(s) it can usually be arranged – just be sure to let us know. Shooting scores typically range from the single digits to perfect rounds. However, the SAWS League uses a 100-percent handicap system with no cap. It is not unusual for the new shooters to post handicapped scores greater than most of the accomplished shooters every week. Most shooters use a 12 or 20-gauge shotgun, but any safe shotgun is acceptable. There may also be other side events depending on interest. The SAWS League will begin on January 2, 2022 and will end on or before March 27, 2022 (There will be a bye week for club officer elections). SAWS will not run with more than 12 teams and it is anticipated that it will be constructed as a 2-Flight/6- Field scenario with shooting times between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm (Fields 2 thru 7), depending on rotation. If you have any questions about the SAWS League please call and leave your name (including the correct spelling), phone number, whether you are a club member and experience level or send an e-mail (preferred).
