There were definitely a hardy few folks that attended our first high power silhouette rifle match of the season. March has always been cold but today was exceptional with temperatures in the low 30’s and a smidgen of wind every once in a while to prove to us all that it was, indeed, cold!

Last week we had our silhouette clinic and it appeared we had quite a few interested spectators from the class, as well as a few that were at the class and decided to jump in feet first and try this new sport out. I’d say, for shooters in a new game, to them, that they all did quite well.

Our match winners were the usual, but I feel that if the others stay in the game, they will make it hot for the veterans of the sport. AR & Standard Rifle winner was Hartwell Stoneham with a 15×40 in AR, and a 13×40 in Standard Rifle. Roger Estes won Hunting Rifle with a 14×40.

Next week is our first smallbore silhouette rifle match. Bring your squirrel rifle and come on out and shoot with us. I promise you’ll enjoy yourself, whether you shoot as good as you want or not. Same as today, I will have a weigh scale if you want to see how much your rifle weighs and well as a trigger pull scale to test your trigger. See you then. Gate Code for the smallbore match on 3/14 is 4531#.
