Long Range Pistol Match Feb 15

,

On , 2/15, after the SWAP meet, why not come from there to the Long Range Pistol match, at the Lea Valley Range? This may be the most difficult pistol competition ever. I like to run matches like this mostly because of the caliber of the possible competitors in any given match, and the willingness of our members to try new things.

This is definitely NEW! Right after the SWAP meet on 2/15, go to the Lea Valley range and bring up to three pistols and shoot the Long Range Pistol Match. At 200 yards, with any federally legal pistol, we will have what essentially will be a pistol silhouette match at 200 yards. 40 shots. All the animals at the 200 yard line. Shoot one gun, or, up to three if we don’t run out of daylight! If you shoot more than one category, you have to shoot a different pistol in each category. Federally legal mostly means the barrel has to be no longer than 16.5″. Position is unsupported standing. Unsupported means you can’t use your non-support arm on your hip holding up your pistol. Shoot your pistol with one hand, or both hands, only.

Come to this match. Awards are a trophy for each category winner (revolver, pistol, single shot pistol), and cash. Awards are winner or each category, match winner, high woman. Similar to rifle silhouette, targets have to be knocked over. So, again similar to rifle, competitors have to hit the animal, knock it off the rail and continue on thru the entire 10 shots.

Come to the match. I think it will be good time. Match entry fee will be $10 for one gun, $12 for 2 guns, $15 for 3. These scores will not be sent to the NRA for classification. Strictly a fun match.
