Club Member Larry Wright Obituary
We have been notified previous long-time Club member Larry Wright (“OWL”) passed away yesterday (Tuesday). Larry joined the Club February 1974, became an Active member April 1995, served as Gunsmith for decades at Club Sighting-in Days, served as Recording Secretary 2000, Sergeant-at Arms 2001 – 2004, and Director 2005 – 2010. Larry worked as a gunsmith at Gilbert’s Small Arms Range, and was very engaged with a group from Potomac Arms Co. (“The Pacmen”).
From his son Jeff Wright, “Larry passed away peacefully in his sleep last night after a long hard battle with complications from the chemotherapy treatment. Just when we found out he had beat the brain cancer and had no signs of activity from it, he started having complications with his bone marrow making platelets and white blood cells due to the chemo drugs. After five weeks of daily transfusions they stopped them because they were no longer helping. He went into hospice care Monday at the Assisted Living place he was supposed to go to in December. He kept his head up and was a fighter until the end. He cherished the memories that he had working with the PACmen for many years!”
No further information is available at this time. Condolences to friends and family.
