Club Member Ken Moore Obituary

,

We sadly report Ken Moore suddenly passed away quietly Sunday evening August 24th.

Ken joined the Club April 2003 and became an Active member just over 14 years ago. Ken served as the Club Sergeant-at-Arms from 2018 – 2024 and became a Director in 2025. Ken also was our Building and Grounds Chair from August 2017 to present, and spent countless hours on the maintenance and betterment of our range berms. He was an avid cast bullet shooter and silhouette competitor.

Ken managed the Ram Bash and the Rimfire Ram Bash for the club, and was a frequent competitor and helper at the Bud Meyer Black Powder Silhouette Shoot.  He was always busy helping to repair the silhouette targets on the Lea Valley Range and was a member of the “Wednesday Group” that shoots on that range.  Ken also competed in the Ram Bash competition at the Cavalier Gun Club and shot the long-range silhouette match at Shippensburg Pennsylvania.

He was well-known, a friend to many members of Fairfax Rod and Gun Club, and will be missed. Condolences to his wife Sheryle, family and friends.

We will send out information for the service for Ken when we receive them.
