Registration Form for NSSA Skeet Instructor

Fairfax Rod and Gun Club will be hosting a Level 1 National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) Instructor Certification Course on October 17 – 18, 2020.  Fred Tschantz, Junior, Level 4/Master Instructor, will be traveling from Ohio to teach the course.  Student instructors will learn teaching techniques, the system for bringing on beginners, and shotgun shooting fundamentals. The course culminates in students being certified as NSSA Level 1 Instructors.  Students must be current NSSA members, be 18 years of age or older, and C class or higher in one gun, currently or previously, with a minimum of 300 NSSA tournament targets.

Registration deadline for all students is 30 September.  Enrollment is capped at 17 students and registration will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

The course will cost each student approximately $400-$500.  This estimate includes the fixed $300 NSSA course fee, student’s fair share of the instructor’s and instructor helper’s travel costs/meals, and target fees at the club.  Students are required to provide their own ammunition and should expect to shoot 4 – 5 boxes of shells during the course.  The $300 NSSA fee is due at time of application to reserve your seat and your check will not be cashed until completion of the course.  Fair share of instructor fees and target fees will be collected during the course.  Please see attached registration form for more details on payment.

Students are required to submit to a background check in order to be enrolled in the course.  Please complete the attached consent form (see forms at the top) and include it with your registration packet.

Shooters seeking to register should mail their registration form, $300 check, and background check consent form to Ralph Aaron.  Additionally, applicants should e-mail Collin Christopherson at [email protected] and Fred Tschantz, Jr, at [email protected] when they apply.
