NRA Range Safety Officer Training for BSA Troop 581

This request is to use the clubhouse meeting room for a NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification Course on Saturday, July 20th taught by Dave Atwell and a couple friends (one is a club member and the other is on the waiting list). The primary reason for this class is to train and certify a new cohort of of 4-6 Troop 581 scout leaders and parents as RSOs before the troop’s shooting sports campout in October at the club. Since the class can easily accomodate up to 12 participants, we will also open the course up to FRGC members and other scout leaders in the National Capital Area Council. The actual course cost will be approximately $100-$125 per person, but scouters and club members will receive a 50% discount. No shooting is required for this course, and no live ammunition will be allowed in the classroom.
