This is a qualification shoot for the Sea Scout Marksmanship Program Award. The course of fire consists of shooting paper targets at a distance of 50 feet with .22 bolt action rifles from the benchrest and standing positions. There will be 6 scouts participating with 3 adult scout leaders. All the adults are NRA Certified as Rifle Instructors and/or RSOs. Dave Atwell is one of the adults, and will be the supervising club member. Charleen Kennedy is the primary leader from the scout ship and is also involved in shotgun shooting wtih Trigger Time 4-H and is currently on the club’s associate membership waiting list. Only 6 firing points/lanes are needed, and we are requesting use of the Mann Range plus permission to put our target stands at 50′. We will be dilligent in target placement to make sure rounds impact the berm and do not damage the range. If the Mann range is not considered appropriate we could also use the Walsh or Lea Valley ranges as alternatives.
