CMP Small Arms Firing School

Rifle SAFS

– Benson range setup on Jun 17

– classroom instruction, morning of Jun 18

– practice firing, afternoon of Jun 18

– Excellence In Competition match, Jun 19

– CMP provides rifles, ammo, and electronic targets

– CMP provides primary instructors (High Master Classified, Distinguished Rifleman)

– FXRGC provides classroom w/projector

– FXRGC runs the range (Benson) and provides coaches for each firing point.  As in the last SAFS we did I would recruit these from my High Power shooters.  All would be either Master or High Master and most would also be Distinguished Rifleman.

Pistol SAFS

– classroom instruction, morning of Jun 18

– Excellence In Competition match, afternoon of Jun 18

– CMP provides pistols and ammunition

– CMP provides primary instructor – James Henderson, many time CMP and NRA national champion.

– FXRGC provides classroom space with projector.  This could be either the range house on Benson or if that becomes too small for the number of shooters, a tent at the clubhouse.

– FXRGC provides a coach for each firing point.  These would hopefully be recruited from the accomplished shooters who normally attend the Precision Pistol matches.

– FXRGC provides/runs pistol range, afternoon of Jun 18.
