2007 REGISTERED 2700 CONVENTIONAL OUTDOOR PISTOL MATCHES

MARCH 25, APRIL 22, MAY 27, JUNE 24, AUGUST 26, AND SEPTEMBER 23, 2007

Open to any member of the National Rifle Association. Membership applications will be available at match. Each match is limited to 25 Competitors (number of firing points). There will be no relays.

The Fairfax Pistol Range is located at 7039 Signal Hill Road , Manassas VA. Directions:

From 1-66: Take Exit 53 (Hwy 28) south. Travel south about 6 miles to Liberia Road which will be a stoplight intersection with a Burger King and an EXXON and Shell gas stations. Turn left onto Liberia Road and go about a mile to the Signal Hill Road intersection. There will be a Mobil gas station on the right side across the intersection. Turn left onto Signal Hill Road and follow that road through a 4-Way stop until you come to a “T”. Turn left and follow the road about a mile. The entrance to the Club will be on the left. You DO NOT have the right of way. Stop for traffic approaching from the right.

From I-95: Take Exit 158 ( Prince William Parkway ) west to Liberia Avenue (approximately 18 miles). Turn right on Liberia Avenue to Signal Hill Road . Turn right again and follow the same directions as above.

  Firing line is concrete, covered, with a loud speaker system and turning targets at the 25-yard line. A portable restroom is located behind the range. Food and refreshments are available at the club house dining facility. An opportunity will be given to preorder lunch during the match so as to allow it being ready at the club house during the lunch break.

Registration will be from 8:00 to 8:45AM .
Shooters

Entry Fees:
$35.00 for three guns
$30.00 for two guns
$20.00 for one gun
$5.00 for Distinguished Revolver Match

Advanced registration/reservations are requested. Advanced registration and reservations for a position will be held until 8:30 AM . Mail SR-I card and check/money order/NRA points to Chuck Nothom, 8633 Langport Drive , Springfield , VA. 22152. Make checks or money orders payable to Fairfax Rod & Gun Club.

  Awards/Categories/Classes: Awards will be given to the open winner per match with class awards in each category. One award will be given per each five competitors. Categories and classifications may be combined in accordance with NRA rules. Awards will be in cash, check, or NRA points.

Special Awards will be given to the following categories if there are three (3) or more individuals in any of the following categories.

Scoring plugs will be used only by the Chief Range Officer or Match Director. Competitors may use overlays.

  NOTES:

  1. All aspects of the match will be governed by current NRA Pistol Rules
  2. All events will be squadded
  3. Challenge fee is $1.00. If a challenge is sustained, then the fee will be refunded.
  4. Competitors will be classified according to the current NRA classification system. Current classification

Cards or Temporary Score Books must be available to be presented, if requested.

  1. Competitors will pass score cards to the competitor on their right and will score the competitor on their left.
  2. No new entries for an aggregate match will be permitted after the first shot in the aggregate is fired.
  3. The “jury system" will be used.

  MATCH SCHEDULE

  • .22 Caliber Aggregate (2 x SF @ 50 yards, NMC, and 2 x TF & RF @ 25 yards) (90 shots)
  • 15 minute break
  • Center Fire Aggregate (2 x SF @ 50 yards, NMC, and 2 x TF & RF @ 25 yards) (90 shots)
  • 45 minute lunch break
  • .45 Caliber Aggregate (2 x SF @ 50 yards, NMC, and 2 x TF & RF @ 25 yards) (90 shots)
  • Distinguished Revolver Match (1 SF @ 50 yards and 1 each TF & RF @ 25 yards – 30 shots)

Miscellaneous:

  • SR-1 cards are available at http://www.bullseyematches.com/. It is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. It may be filled out and printed and signed or it may be printed and then filled out. Make sure that it is signed before mailing or handing it in at the match. SR-1 cards will also be available at the match.
  • Eye and hearing protection are required for all people participating in the match or visitors and spectators in the proximity of the range at anytime when firearms are being discharged.
  • Shooters must furnish their own staplers.
  • Obey all speed-limit signs on club property.
  • Drive carefully – the road to the range is one-lane with occasional areas to pull over to allow the oncoming vehicle to continue. Please drive with care and courtesy.

Keep all firearms pointed down range .

All shooters must use empty chamber indicators to allow easy identification of cleared and safe weapons by range officials. they will be provided if needed.
